Our Physicians
Dr. Assikis
Dr. Ballard
Dr. Bender
Dr. Henderson
Dr. Mininberg
Dr. York
Our physicians are often asked, “How did you decide to
care for patients with cancer and blood disorders?” The
answers will vary but all share a passion for the quest to heal
people. Our physicians have each pursued knowledge through
years of training, first in the field of Internal Medicine followed
by additional training in the field of Medical Oncology and Hematology. They
have successfully met the requirements to achieve Board Certification
in the subspecialty of Medical Oncology.
Their education is ongoing. Our physicians keep themselves
abreast of all current treatment modalities through continuing
education and research in their specialty. They attend oncology
and hematology association and university sponsored seminars
and conferences where researchers present the latest advancements
in treatment. They continuously monitor professional publications
for treatment updates.
Our physicians are experts in diagnosing
cancer and blood disorders and prescribing state-of-the-art
treatment plans. Every
cancer is different; some may require chemotherapy while others
may call for radiation therapy and/or surgery. Our physicians
collaborate with your primary care physician and other specialists
to make sure you are receiving the best treatment available for
your condition.
Oncology is one of the most dynamic fields
in healthcare. World-wide
research into the cause and cure of cancer is creating treatment
options that continue to bring greater comfort to those undergoing
treatment and stronger hope for a lasting cure.
